PADI eLearning
What is PADI eLearning?
The knowledge development portion of your Open Water Diver Course and several others can be done from the comfort of your own home and fit into your busy schedule as your time allows. Â This section includes various activities from watching videos and reading textbooks, to completing knowledge reviews and taking quizzes. Â These activities can take up several hours to several weeks of your time, depending on the course. Once the knowledge development portion is completed through eLearning, the student will just need to complete the practice sessions to receive their certification.
Practice sessions of PADI courses also include confined and open water scenarios and must be completed by a current PADI Instructor and cannot be completed online. These are also at additional cost.
What do I need to start?
Virtually anyone who has good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn your PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, we also have the PADI Junior Open Water Diver course. If  you are already a diver you can also access other courses via e-learning.
Minimum age: 10
What will I learn?
After enrolling in the PADI eLearning system will show you interactive presentations including video, audio, graphics and reading materials. The short quizzes will allow you to measure your progress and review and correct anything in which you need further practice. Â The software allows you to move through the program efficiently and at your own pace. Â You will learn the basics of scuba diving, including equipment and diving techniques.
How long will the course take?
The student is able to move at their own pace throughout the online portion of the course. Â While it can be completed in a couple of days depending on how much time you have to devote, you will have up to one year from the course registration to complete the online portion of the course.
How much does it cost?
Every PADI eLearning module has its own price.  This is billed directly to you by PADI, not by our dive center. The fee includes all knowledge development training and you receive unlimited access to an electronic version of the PADI materials for the course.
What’s NOT included?
Tip Top Diving will charge an additional fee for the Practice sessions in Galapagos. The water portion fee includes the skill development and in-water section of your certification course. Our fee covers all of the pool sessions, rental equipment, dive trips and certification card.
